The first exhibition of 2023 features Biel-based artist Linus Baumeler who takes inspiration in the semiotics of the cave: the cave as a seemingly eternal place of origin and stillness, but also one that triggers both shelter and fear. The artist is interested in the delicate and symbolic aspects of the cave as a source. At times abstract, at times sensual, playful or mysterious, it essentially evokes a place for new formation – a drop to become a stalactite; a collaboration to become a new body of work. In this context, Linus Baumeler has invited Elischa Heller, Cyril Tyrone Hübscher and Lino Meister to contribute with sculptural, sound and sensory works and to create a space for thought, for which the cave - or cavern - serves as an envelope, both in form and content.
