New Works & Concert by Marco Guglielmetti & Paul Pedrazzini
In collaboration with The Artists.net

In the attic of KRONE COURONNE artist Gabriel Stöckli will show some of his latest works: Senza titolo [Untitled] (2023) is a series of sound sculptures that the artist conceived during his residency at Cité internationale des arts in Paris earlier this year. They are inspired, like many of Stöckli’s works, by the daily observation of his surroundings and their slow absorption. Domestic life, conviviality, irony, human intelligence – some of the issues that interest him the most – have been circumscribed, synthesized and returned in a new, unusual context. Taking inspiration from two sound sculptures by Gabriel Stöckli, musicians Marco Guglielmetti, Paul Pedrazzini and Matteo Simonin will perform live on this evening. They will start playing to the soundtrack of the sculpture Dream Operator, overlapping with it and then present other compositions. There will be snacks & beer during and following the concert.

The evening will also provide an opportunity to view Gabriel Stöckli’s Cahier d’Artiste and obtain a copy if interested. The centrepiece of the artist book, entitled «Cuori», is a captivating conversation between the artist and writer Stella Succi, enriched with visual interventions by Gabriel Stöckli. The publication also includes a selection of illustrations from the renowned Italian weekly magazine La Settimana Enigmistica, which Stöckli has arranged into new collages. The book was designed and published by Jungle Books with the support of Pro Helvetia.

Gabriel Stöckli is part of the Cahiers d’Artistes selection. Eight artists were chosen by a jury to realize an artist book with the support of Pro Helvetia. Their artistic practice is presented online on TheArtists.net. With the Cahiers d’Artistes, Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia enables artists from Switzerland to have their first publication and offers art professionals and the interested public a window to current trends in the Swiss art scene. For the first time, the Cahiers d’Artistes are not pure monographs, but artist books designed and produced by graphic designers Samuel Bänziger, Rosario Florio, and Larissa Kasper (Jungle Books) in close collaboration with the artists. More about the Cahiers d’Artistes on Pro Helvetia’s website.
